At Gooseberry Green our children are aged from 2 to 4 years. Our intent as a Pre School is to give our children their first experience in an education setting through a loving and
nurturing environment. We spend quality time helping our children transition from leaving their parents and gaining their first steps of independence within Pre School. To being ready to move onto
‘big’ school!
We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and our care and education is based on the following areas of development:

Key Person
Your child will be allocated a Key Person as soon as they start with us and we will let you know who this is. Your child’s Key Person keeps a record of achievement for each child
known as their Learning Journal. You will have access to this through your own Parent Zone account. Your child’s learning journey helps us to celebrate their achievements and then work together
to provide what your child needs for their well-being and to make progress.
Your child's Key Person will work in partnership with you to keep this record. To do this they will collect
information about your child's needs, activities, interests and achievements. We will gain this information from you through parent evenings, All About Me forms and through Parent Zone. This
information will enable the Key Person to identify your child's stage of progress and their next steps.
Together, we will then decide on how to help your child to move on to their next
stage.
